ABSTRACT

This introduction presents an overview of the key concepts discussed in the subsequent chapters of this book. The book aims to develop the understandings about India, Germany and Europe from research. It includes findings not only about religious and philosophical traditions and cultural developments, but also about contemporary theatre, films and media. The book focuses on describing and investigating the Indian school and education system. Young academics from Germany and India gain a deeper understanding of foreign phenomena and arrive at some striking insights. The book shows that Berlin Zoo is an in-between-place, oscillating between putting the animals and our relationship to the animals on show and a place of scientific research. It examines the status of dispositions in logical philosophy. The book concludes with empirical studies on how India and Germany deal with the challenges of globalization.
