Predicting the Impacts of Surface Coal Mining on Trout Populations in the Yampa River Basin: A Discussion

This discussion consists of two parts. The first portion reviews the paper by Richard A. Smith which is a study of one small area within the Upper Colorado River Basin. The second portion consists of general comments based on considerations of the Yampa River and how they may be extrapolated to cover certain other problems of the basin as a whole.
