ABSTRACT
I hardly know where to begin—faced with 40 pages of selective history, some good analysis of the depths to which agricultural policy has fallen and not a little self-justification in Lesher’s paper, and a seven-part “litany of farm policy lessons” we should have learned by now from Johnson. Lesher seems to approach the subject of food and agricultural policy as if he were a spectator rather than a major participant.
