ABSTRACT
This chapter briefly reviews what is known in the physical, biological, and health sciences about chlorofluorocarbon (CFC) emissions and the attendant issues of stratospheric ozone depletion and climatic change. It is intended that this review will serve as background information for the other chapters in this volume.
