ABSTRACT

In developing economies, it seems to be an upcoming trend to embrace a popular ideology relevant to environmental stewardship such as a growing feeling of interconnectedness with nature (Schultz, 2000). Consequently, the scientific community is increasingly focusing on the human–nature relationship and its impact on environmentally sustainable behavior. In the field of tourism, for instance, investigative efforts on individual’s perceptions and attitudes towards nature have been prevailing for decades.
