ABSTRACT
Taylor’s adaptation of Macpherson’s essay to the context of political geography has produced a stimulating and argumentative piece. The classification on which the argument is based is a useful summary of contemporary political geography, and I am happy to respond as a leftward-leaning, middle-ground reformer. I can, of course, speak only for myself and in no way implicate others in what I have to say.
