The Regressive Method of Discovering the Premises of Mathematics µ1907Õ

Russell gave this paper before the Cambridge Mathematical Club on 9 March 1907, according to a note in his hand on the manuscript. On 3 November 1906 he had written to Alys from Cambridge that he had promised to give a paper next term to the Mathematical Club, which met on Wednesdays. The present paper fulfilled this promise.
