ABSTRACT
Senses have an important place in the relationship between the deity and the devotee in classical Hinduism. This chapter will briefly comment on sense-perception, including that of God, as discussed in classical epistemology. It will then examine several aspects of sense-perception in a religious context, especially with regard to divine incarnation and divine icons.
