ABSTRACT

This chapter examines multisensory techniques used for olfactive education and communication to encourage artists and designers to explore scent effectively, to connect practice to multisensory, life-focused design. Practical examples are taken from teaching MA Design and Fashion students at Kingston University and BA Art and Design students at Bern University of the Arts to incorporate fragrance in their work, as well as tips from Kingston’s Design with Scents interactive five-day course on how to design a ‘scent for space.’
