ABSTRACT
The purpose of this chapter is to provide a critique of the economics involved in National Forest Management Act (NFMA) planning. This is a very difficult assignment because, while formal direction for NFMA planning is gradually emerging in the form of interim directives, agency memorandums, and draft reports, the whole process is still in a very active state of development.
