ABSTRACT
Resulting frictions have always generated interesting patterns of change, nesting different temporal logics within each other. Accordingly, due to ongoing and pronounced frictions, institutional path dependence in Canada has never favoured the status quo, on the contrary. The loosely coupled nature of the federal order allowed frictions to translate into different forms of change including innovation through diffusion and conversion as well as reversal processes.
