ABSTRACT
The integrated life cycle and risk assessment method applied in this chapter, in line with Sonnemann et al. (2004), is based on the life cycle assessment (LCA) methodology described in Chapter 10. It provides a case study for the spatial modelling in LCA, as introduced in Chapter 13, but does not look at the cost implications, as done in life cycle costing (Chapter 33). LCA application in regional waste management is also the topic of Chapter 30, where, however, the focus is on the life cycle evaluation of landfill gas recovery and biogas generation in a region of Chile.
