ABSTRACT

In Chapter 12, Dr. Koocher and Dr. Keith Spiegel examine the array of possibilities for multiple relationships in higher education between teachers or instructors and students. They map the possibilities from social interactions, to mentoring, co-publishing, researching, hiring students to do work at the professors’ homes, blending therapeutic and academic modalities, and many more. They discuss the complexities and the ethical issues involved in such common multiple relationships.
