ABSTRACT
Introduction and purpose Swedish sport has a long narrative tradition, which is reflected in and linked to media development and the structure and context of sport itself. Biographies of sporting profiles have been popular for many years, and are appreciated for their way of bringing readers close to the athletes. In the last few years, sports biographies have explored key social issues as well as depicted the athletes’ lives.
