ABSTRACT

Introduction The starting point for developing an evaluation strategy for the BIM-Hub project was an agreement that its primary purpose should be to collect and analyse data, the outcomes of which would be fed into debates held amongst stakeholders with a view to informing decision making throughout its life history. In practice this meant that evaluation was deeply embedded in the implementation of the project’s activities, featured prominently in its strategic and operational plans, was discussed regularly at consultative and steering group meetings and was conducted continuously throughout the life of the project – and not as an afterthought that was ‘bolted on’ as it approached its conclusion.
