ABSTRACT

This chapter presents an interview between Gorgodze Sophia and private school teacher about subject of Teaching. This was the end of an hour-long interview with the history teacher in a private school, who had seemed quite positive about the controlled teaching and learning. The concept of the 'best' teacher is the one who is creative, but it seems that uncreative teachers are also necessary in the current educational system. To better achieve what markets require and what parents strive for, school quality-assurance services insist that teachers do multiple tests in class, which takes most of their teaching time and leaves less space for creativity and critical thinking. Tests do not enable us to analyze something or to be creative; this only allows for more pre-defined thinking. The state gives a national curriculum, textbooks and the direction in which to go, and the ISO helps one to arrange the study process effectively.
