ABSTRACT
Salvation is one of the major concerns of the Christian message and one of the central topics expressed in its foundational texts. The theme of salvation is not unique to Jewish and the Christian theology, but the prominence of this theological idea within the systematic thought of a both religions is something that is distinctive to these two religious frameworks. Tracing the New Testament concept of salvation will be presented in detail. The use of these terms will be examined below in relation to various sub-collections of the New Testament writings: Gospels, Acts, Pauline Letters, Hebrews, Catholic Epistles, and Revelation. The concept of “salvation” is primarily expressed in the New Testament using the word group related to the verb “to save”. The Jewish scriptures are largely concerned with the relationship between the God of Israel and the chosen covenant people.
