ABSTRACT

This chapter introduces the basic functionality of the website itself, as well as explains the decisions that led to the design and style of the site. It covers the impact the site and the project overall had on the world outside the digital platform itself. The chapter briefly evaluates the manner in which arguably whimsical projects like Radiant Copenhagen impact on the hard and jagged nature of everyday reality. As an arts project that intentionally engaged the city of Copenhagen through a mix of guided bus tours, performances, lectures, exhibitions, manipulation of news media and more, Radiant Copenhagen did not intend to prioritise digital space over physical space. The entry from Radiant Copenhagen recounts how: In the period between 2060 and 2100, sidewalks, squares and other public spaces ceased to have a function. They became simply obstacles, areas that had to be traversed in order to reach private spaces similar to the ones one had left behind.
