ABSTRACT

This chapter describes the way the local communities reacted to such legal frameworks, with a focus on the implementation of land mapping and registration in resolving land rights issues in the tsunami-impacted areas of Aceh. It explains the development of unique legal frameworks for the implementation of community-based land administration in the tsunami-impacted areas of Aceh. The chapter explains the Indonesia, land administration has been governed under Law Number 5/1960 concerning Basic Regulation on Agrarian Principles. It is explained in this Presidential Regulation that legal issues regarding lands are matters that need to be handled urgently for they concern the civil right of land that needs to be reinstated, guaranteed, and protected. Governmental Regulation in lieu of Law Number 2/2007 regarding the Legal Aspect of the Post-Earthquake and Tsunami Disaster Rehabilitation and Reconstruction of the Regions and Communities of Nanggroe Aceh Darussalam Province and Nias Island. The tsunami disaster damaged or destroyed land boundary marks.
