ABSTRACT

Four of the more elaborate energy-economic models have been presented, along with scenarios from the models (based on common assumptions). This effort is a major one, whether measured by inputs or outputs, person-hours, pages, or computer time. The assumptions were designed to shed light on questions of interest, as well as to examine the comparability of the models. I plan to discuss these four papers plus the additional piece on the feedback of energy use to GNP in four sections. In the first I will heap praise on the In the second, modelers; they can be proud of how much has been accomplished. I will continue heaping, but having run out of praise, we will be down to heaping residuals. In the third, the scenarios will be discussed and in the fourth I will attempt to draw forth the conclusions of this exercise and other general observations.
