ABSTRACT

Underneath the Israeli occupation and outside of the organised resistance, a far more “normal” life of ordinary Palestinians exists. These people have remarkable stories that deserve to be told and articulate voices that need to be heard. In reality, Palestinians continuously try to voice their grievances and to simply show the world that they exist. This is an affront to Golda Meir’s dictate that “the Palestinian people do not exist,” arrogantly aired in her role as Israel’s Prime Minister in 1969 (Elia Zureik 2001, p. 216).
