ABSTRACT

This chapter examines the development of employment and HR practices in a Polish subsidiary of a German bank in the retail banking sector. The study aims to provide a better understanding of the role of multinational companies (MNCs) as a ‘source of employment practice’ in Central and Eastern European Countries (CEECs). It also contributes to the wider debate on the process of the Europeanization of employment relations, which is understood as a convergence of employment relations regimes, by providing an account of what is happening at firm level.
