ABSTRACT
This chapter describes the most popular governance institutions found among a large variety of institutions in the private and public sector. We start by presenting the ‘organizational building blocks’ that are used for the various approaches to organizational project governance. With institutions or, more specifically, organizational institutions, we mean an organized body of people (full-time, part-time, dedicated, or virtual) with a specific purpose in the governance of projects.
