ABSTRACT

This chapter addresses the interaction of project governance structures and ethical issues in projects. We start conceptually, with a brief introduction to organizational ethics and their process, outcome, and character orientation. Then we outline empirical research findings on types and frequencies of ethical issues in projects, the relationship of ethical issues with different project governance paradigms, and the measures organizations take to avoid or mitigate the occurrence of ethical issues. We conclude by theorizing on the role of governance paradigms in the mix of ethical issues in projects.
