ABSTRACT

Education research has long supported the connection between parents and schools. When parents and schools collaborate to deliver education, students are successful. Ample research shows that parental involvement in their children’s learning positively affects the children’s performance in both primary and secondary schools (Fan & Chen, 2001; Feinstein & Symons, 1999). These effects include higher academic achievement and greater cognitive competence and problemsolving skills (Melhuish, Sylva, Sammons, Siraj-Blatchford, & Taggert, 2001).
