ABSTRACT

I base this chapter on the premise that the Inquiry Arc and the disciplinary tools of economics serve as crucial elements of the College, Career, and Civic Life (C3) Framework for Social Studies State Standards (National Council for the Social Studies, 2013b). In explaining this premise, I detail how and why my colleagues and I developed the Framework to support the teaching of economics at the K-12 level. In doing so, I provide specific examples of how to use the Framework in teacher education programs as well as in K-12 classrooms.
