ABSTRACT

The next section set the theoretical framework for this study, drawing inspiration from

writings on project networks and destination governance, followed by a methodological

section. The empirical sections analyse the project processes with a focus on the actors

involved, their relations and how that shaped the process of theme-based destination

and event development. Finally, the conclusions summarize the most notable findings

and identify what went wrong and why, drawing lessons for future potential efforts in

other settings.
