ABSTRACT

Teaching children TA can be a powerful intervention if the educator establishes a clear multi-dimensional contract with all parties. Furthermore, children experiencing difficulties in schooling and learning are especially receptive to transactional analysis. For educators thinking about using TA in their practice there are important considerations, primarily regarding motivation and purpose. There are several considerations regarding professional practice and ethical aspects of teaching TA to children. In the UK most teachers are trained in a curriculum model of teaching. This is often in the absence of training in learning through process. Working directly with children using TA requires confidence and competence in understanding and working with process. After several relapses into Adapted Child rebellion, Tom gradually began to restore an Adult awareness. He began to integrate his justified anger with a need to regulate in order to stay in relationship.
