ABSTRACT

Education differs from other fields of application in that it is always in the public space there are social and political aspects to the contract, and there are witnesses to the 'doing'; the contract is always multi-party and is 'seen to be done'. It is the pre-eminent way that a society or culture passes on its beliefs, priorities, philosophy, hopes and expectations to each generation. Education is a community project. TA is a contractual system as a consequence of its philosophy and principles, and a contract especially educational always has a context. It provides an excellent 'map' of child development, with key concepts expressive of each stage. Hewson brought these together in a 'systems' model. Psychological games and the Drama Triangle are both iconic TA concepts, and perhaps the most useful for conflict resolution, family dynamics and anti-bullying programmes in schools and organizations.
