ABSTRACT
Temple Grandin describes the similarities between autistic emotion and animal emotion and explains how she has designed chute systems for handling cattle in slaughter plants to keep cattle calm. She also discusses how important the attitude of the handler is and the growing role of women in slaughter plants. Grandin affirms that life and death are inseparable and that it is important to accept our own mortality.
