Leopold emphasizes the importance of both preservationist and sportsperson perspectives in the struggle to enhance the well-being of wildlife; he further calls for more cooperative efforts between these factions. He also affirms the importance of hunting as an important connection between humans and nature as well as an essential economic foundation for managing wildlife.
