ABSTRACT
Courtney Dillard presents her observations of two protests against the largest pigeon shoot in the United States. In the second protest, activists lay flat on the ground, bound themselves to one another at the neck, remained silent, and remained calm. In being bound together, they attempt to represent the helplessness of the birds. The onlookers who were interviewed indicated that this approach was very effective in changing attitudes.
