ABSTRACT

This chapter will give an account of the joys and struggles of the research journey in the Metanoia DPsych programme. The project was located in the overlap between the realms of psychotherapy and education. There were two central themes that were woven into the fabric of all my submissions in the doctoral programme. One was the significance of having an emotionally sensitive relationship for the healthy development of a child. The other was working with images in psychotherapy and research. This chapter will also highlight the tangible and practical products of the project. As teacher and child relationships are the focus of this project, the experiences are relevant. It explains the project with a detailed review of the literature concerned with children's emotional well-being and education. The chapter has clarified and deepened the thinking in realms of both psychotherapy and education.
