ABSTRACT
This chapter briefly describes the programme and the experiences of two candidates successfully awarded the doctorate on the public works. The DPsych via Public Works is designed for senior and accomplished practitioners in the fields of psychotherapy, counselling and psychology who have already made a substantial contribution to psychological therapy through a range of publications and/or public works. The public works submitted must be based on a single or predominant theme and may include work that is co-authored. The public works reflect an enthusiasm for a profession able to change, to embrace cyber culture and the rich streams of new possibilities for treatment in the field of mental health in light of technology. The realisations emerging from this better awareness of the contributions and the difference I had made to the theory and practice of psychotherapy also forced extensive and largely uncomfortable contemplation of my current National Health Service (NHS) context.
