ABSTRACT

To explore the limits of political action and how it can be mobilised as a critical practice, this chapter first looks at the institution of a political subject before turning a discussion to the limits of political actions, and ways in which a political subject can act. By looking at an act of misinterpellation, acting out and passage à l’acte I aim to show how these different practices of political action/acting politically bring about different political realities and can serve as strategies for understanding political action. I opted to engage with this topic through Lacanian psychoanalytic account.
