ABSTRACT

During the last decades of the twentieth century the academic recognition of the innovation-competitiveness link took place. The new product economy and the management of innovation displaced production management from the top rankings of main managerial concerns and creative value chain management became more and more a core management topic. Over the last decade or so, two new themes entered the mainstream: creativity and open innovation. These two subjects have gained great currency among managers but also academics, consultants and policy makers.
