ABSTRACT

This chapter illustrates the concept of 'learning leadership'. It explores both leaders and the platforms for leadership. The chapter describes the meanings of leadership in practice and leadership as practice. It suggests the development of a network of practitioners who care to engage with arts-based methods (ABM's) as a mode of learning and a mode of becoming a leader that celebrates the process of individuation and forms the foundations for a paideia of leader-ship. As Zoja has argued, paideia was a major innovation of the Ancient Greek polis, representing an institutionalized form of the psychological process of individuation. The GNOSIS 2020 initiative an innovative space in which to explore what is possible when practising losing the structure to recall beauty becomes the foundation for paideia. The learning leadership, therefore, that the Janice Jackson example provides not only reinforces the centrality of inner learning, relationality and love for what one does.
