This chapter considers how multilingual education policy intersects with superdiversity. We focus on how the term has been taken up within the field of multilingual education policy, and by offering a historical perspective, illustrate how many of the key shifts invoked by superdiversity were in fact already taking place across the field of language policy. We argue that superdiversity has the potential to lead us towards greater educational equity by encouraging educators and policy makers to reframe old notions of difference.
