ABSTRACT

This conclusion presents some closing thoughts on the key concepts discussed in the previous chapters of this book. Furthermore, it discusses future challenges and trends associated with training in developing nations. Serving as an expatriate trainer in a developing setting can be a rewarding experience if one follows much of the wisdom in this book. Contributing one's talents, skills, and abilities to the betterment of society and the needs of others less fortunate than most of us in developed nations can be an enriching and life-altering experience. The ultimate goal should be to change behavior to achieve improved outcomes that benefit both individual and society. As a trainer, one should gain a better understanding of predominant ethical values of the host society juxtaposed to one's own ethical standards prior to training. Trainers must be sensitive to variations in learning outcomes across students on training in developed nations.
