ABSTRACT
The 1979 Iranian Revolution was largely a change in cultural narrative; in other words, it was mainly a revolution in culture, intended to overhaul the value system, norms, and behaviors. The intention of the Islamic Republic has been dismantling the existing culture, which is perceived as “corrupt” and secular, replacing it with a new system based on “Islamic values” in the entirety of public and private spaces.
