ABSTRACT
Political murals applied to public walls, among the central features of urban public spaces, are designed to communicate government messages to a mass audience. This medium, painted or printed, is a good example of how the Islamic republican state has reshaped and presented Iranian culture over time, and how it continues to do so today.
