ABSTRACT

Numerous studies show that interacting people start to coordinate their movements (Neda, Ravasz, Brechet, Vicsek & Barabasi, 2000; Oullier, de Guzman, Jantzen, Lagarde, & Kelso, 2008; Schmidt, Fitzpatrick, Caron, & Mergeche, 2011). This phenomenon occurs both explicitly as well as implicitly or spontaneously (Lopresti-Goodman, Richardson, Silva & Schmidt, 2008). In the present chapter, several analysis approaches will be presented to analyse data from empirical investigation studying interpersonal coupling effects. The level of the presentation is intended to be as accessible as possible. Naturally, the presented methods represent only a selection of all available or currently used approaches in the literature.
