Students at the U. S. Military Academy (West Point) and at the Branch Immaterialofficer Candidate Course (Ft. Benning, GA)

The military research consisting of two studies was published in the Journal of Applied Psychology (Butler, Lardent, and Miner 1983). Again, as in Chapter 6, research from separate sources was brought together to create synergy and thus added value. Richard Butler conducted Study 1 in connection with his institutional research activities at West Point. Charles Lardent carried out Study 2 at Ft. Benning as his PhD dissertation from the Department of Management at Georgia State University.
