ABSTRACT

Weick’s original theorizing appears primarily in three books, although there are important theoretical contributions contained in some of the essays that he has so frequently sprinkled across the journal and book chapter literature of organizational behavior. Many of these essays are reproduced in Weick (2001). The books, however, form the framework through which the theory is presented here. These are the first (Weick 1969) and second (Weick 1979) editions of the Social Psychology of Organizing and Sensemaking in Organizations (Weick 1995).
