ABSTRACT

Human Resource professionals are responsible for providing services such as administration of personnel records and activities, payroll management, compensation and benefits management, employer relations, training and development, employee compliance and outplacement services, recruiting and staffing. They need to provide expanded services to meet the constantly growing needs of their organization including business consulting, employee communications, feedback, change management, and organizational redesign to serve the needs of tomorrow's businesses. Human resource professionals assume that every employee can be trusted to perform to the best of his/her skills and abilities, has the right to be informed about the decisions of the organization, its mission and strategy, and prefers to be an involved contributor rather than a passive observer. Strategic business partnerships give HR professionals the opportunity to develop personal relationships with clients. The four strategies critical for becoming a strategic business partner are to establish credibility, develop a customer service strategy, exhibit business acumen, and demonstrate organizational knowledge.
