ABSTRACT

Social Artistry is an approach to leadership development that builds creative capacities in a culture-specific context. Social Artistry uses a society’s or organization’s stories, music, and other arts in combination with a unique set of principles of human development to evoke enhanced awareness and access to the sensory, psychological, mythical, and integrative resources that are available to all humankind. Social Artistry is currently being delivered in several countries (Philippines, Kenya, Albania, and others) as a pilot leadership capacity-building program sponsored by the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), and it is applicable to leadership training in all contexts.
