ABSTRACT

This chapter presents the 'Services to Businesses' project, one of the most extensive Italian e-Government initiatives aims at improving the relationship between businesses and the public administration (PA). The structure of the PA in Italy consists of central and local agencies that together offer a suite of services designed to help businesses fulfill their obligations toward the PA. The chapter discusses the three central agencies, namely the social security agency (INPS), the accident insurance agency (INAIL), and the chambers of commerce (CoC). Build the integrated conceptual schema (ICS) that, due to the above assumptions, results from the integration of the CoC conceptual schema and the common part between the INPS and INAIL conceptual schemas. The Services to Businesses project requirements called for a combination of deterministic and probabilistic techniques. The record linkage process consists of linking and collecting all the available records that refer to the same business.
