ABSTRACT

This chapter discusses how one region might find its way in the new policy era. The economy of the region, growing fast and bringing the other regions along with it, is playing an important role in promoting the economic development of the whole country. The Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region borders Guangdong Province to the east, Yunnan to the west, and Guizhou to the north. Nanning is the capital of the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region and the cultural center of the region as well. According to the allocation plan for industrial development within the range of the former central-southern China’s administrative region, Guilin was instructed to develop and increase production mainly in rubber, machine tools, instruments, and electronic goods. Guangxi cities and their development potential need to be seen in this context. Sandwiched between the most and the least developed regions, Chinese cities are searching for a development course.
