ABSTRACT

Several issues ago, I wrote to Gerald Ford. It didn’t do much good. I am writing to you now because you may be the next president of the United States. I am told that you are open to constructive suggestions. If so, you are probably already thinking about planning. You will have an unparalleled opportunity to help us catch up with ideas that are taken for granted throughout the rest of the world. If we apply them with typical American enthusiasm, our descendants ought to have something to celebrate when the tricentennial arrives.
