ABSTRACT
Several readers have confessed that they do not know the difference be-tween de mand-pull and cost-push inflation. A knowledge of this distinction is the ticket of ad mission to the great debate on stabilization policy. It is impossible to understand the exquisite mental torture suffered by leading members of the Nixon administration without an insight into the thoroughly depressing choices available to them. A short explanation is in order.
